We did this shot to test the mise-en-scene. Before we started filming we had to take all the chairs off the table and clear up a little bit. We weren't sure of it was the right sort of room but in the shot you can see scientific posters and textbooks etc. to really emphasize the fact it's a science lab.
What went well:
We realized when it got to filming that it would look really unrealistic if "Raven" and "Tiffany" were the only ones in the classroom so we had to quickly try and find some more sixth form students. Because it was after school, we knew there would be art students doing work; we asked them and they were willing to help. The lighting was good but I think we will edit it to make it less bright and we were able to find the right props easily.
This is the shot we liked for when "Raven" runs late to class. It goes on for 18 seconds as we were waiting for her to run up the stairs but we will edit it so it's much quicker. We are also going to FOLEY her voice so we can cut out the ambient sound.
What could have gone better:
It took much longer then expected to film 3 or 4 shots as it was after school and we were all tired and kept laughing.
